FAQ

Why a podcast on the classics?.

I realized that while I had been exposed to some of the classics, I had great gaps in my knowledge of them. Many people today are probably in a similar situation. Even if you have read some of the classics we are going to go over, you may not have been old enough to truly appreciate them at the time you originally read them. Popular books are wonderful, but the classics are classics for a reason. This podcast is an attempt to discover what that reason is.

Are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Christian?

We believe that Jesus Christ is the Savior of the world. We differ a bit in what that means. You can find out anything you may want to know about us here.

Do I have to read the classics in their original language?

The thing about translations is that something is always lost. Ideally, you should read the classics in their original language. However, I realize that many people don’t have the advantage of knowing the languages these classics are in. Also, I know Portuguese, but even in that language I would be slow. Other languages I would be slower to completely lost. So for the speed of the podcast and to help you, we will be sticking with English translations. However, if you do know the language a particular classic is in you are more than welcome to use that version.
